Two of the biggest superstars of Bollywood, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are going to be up against each other on Eid next year. Salman’s Kick 2 and Akshay’s Laxmmi Bomb will arrive in the theatres on the same day and it will be a clash to watch out for.
What’s interesting is that this clash was nowhere in the picture until a few hours ago. Originally, Salman’s next with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, In-shaa-Allah, was slated to release on Eid 2020. But, for the reasons unknown, Bhansali decided to not go ahead with the film at the moment.
Salman shared the update on In-shaa-Allah with his fans on social media and also promised to bring another film on Eid but didn’t give out any details.
Shortly after his tweet, the makers of Laxmmi Bomb announced that it will be releasing on Eid 2020.
And keeping his promise, Salman later revealed that he will be returning as Devil in Kick 2 on the same date, making it for the biggest clash in recent times.
However, the makers of Kick 2 are yet to make a formal announcement about the release date. The Sajid Nadiadwala directorial is yet to go on floors and that is why the rest of the cast has been kept under the wraps.
On the other, the shooting of Laxmmi Bomb is already underway. The film is a remake of Tamil horror film Kanchana 2 and stars Kiara Advani opposite Akshay. It is being directed by Raghava Lawrence who also helmed the original version.
As both Salman and Akshay enjoy a massive fan following, the clash between Kick 2 and Laxmmi Bomb won’t be healthy from the business point of view. Therefore, it is very much likely that one of them will back out. Who will it be, only time will tell.
