Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has tested positive for COVID-19. Sawant took to his Twitter account to disperse the information. The Goa CM further revealed that he is asymptomatic and will be under home isolation.
Sawant said he will continue to discharge his duties as the Goa CM from home. He also appealed to all those who came in close contact with him over the last few days to take necessary precautions.
“I wish to inform all that I have been detected COVID19 positive. I am asymptomatic and hence have opted for home isolation. I shall continue to discharge my duties working from home. Those who have come in my close contact are advised to take the necessary precautions,” Sawant said in a tweet.
Goa’s COVID-19 tally, just like every other Indian state’s, has been on a constant rise. So far, over 18,000 cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Goa, out of which close to 14,000 recovered whereas 194 lost their lives.
