AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik tests COVID positive, opts for home isolation

Shripad Y Naik, who heads the Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) Ministry, has tested positive for COVID-19. The AYUSH Minister took to Twitter to disperse the information.

Naik also revealed that he is asymptomatic and will remain in home isolation for the time being. As the chief of the AYUSH Ministry, he has been leading the charge for India’s fight against the novel coronavirus, which has infected more than 23 lakh and killed over 46,000 till yet.

“I underwent COVID-19 test today and it has turned out asymptomatically positive. My vitals are within normal limits and I have opted for home isolation. Those who have come in contact with me in the last few days are advised to get tested for themselves and take the required precautions,” the AYUSH Minister wrote on Twitter.

So far, several Union Ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah, Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa and Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan have contracted the dreaded infection.
